My name is Tammy I am a registered physical therapist, certified massage therapist and licensed esthetician. I have been in practice for over 25 years. Let me combine my expertise in orthopedics, exercise and rehabilitation to give you the best massage for your specific needs!
Since I was a child I have always known that I wanted to be in the health and wellness field. After a sports related injury in the ninth grade I knew this was the field for me! While competing in gymnastics for the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse Eagles I obtained a BS in Exercise Science. Then I went on to obtain my Masters in Physical Therapy from St. Ambrose University. It is there that I learned the foundations and principles of the healing art of physical and massage therapy. A Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage but with a deep tissue massage, I will use firm pressure to release muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons, and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints)
A trigger point is a tight area within your muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of your body as well. They might show up as sharp, intense spasms, or as a dull generalized ache. Either way, they’re a real pain.

I will step out for a moment, allowing you to disrobe (to your comfort level) and lay onto a table underneath the top sheet and blanket. During your massage I will only uncover the areas of your body I’m working on.
You can ask for either a full-body massage (for general relaxation) or a customized session focusing on specific parts of your body. And remember, your comfort matters. Feel free to talk with to me as much, or as little, as you wish.
It’s important to relax your mind and muscles during your massage. Breathe normally and try not to tighten or contract your muscles. Maintain open lines of communication with me if you’d like to provide feedback on pressure or techniques.
